Our Stay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

My family and I just did 5 nights and 6 days at Disney World. We stayed at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort which is a moderate resort. This resort has many 5th sleeper rooms that either have two queen beds and the pull down 5th sleeper or one queen bed, a pull down Murphy queen bed and the pull down 5th sleeper. This resort also has access to the skyliner hub which means one does not need to transfer to another line on the skyliner to get to their destination unlike with Pop, Art of Animation and the Riviera. There is also one big main pool and then multiple smaller pools spread out throughout the resort, two quick service restaurants, one pool side bar and one table service restaurant. Overall, it is a very nice resort to stay at and I am glad we picked it for this trip.

Caribbean Beach is broken up into different “islands.” Each section of the resort is named and themed to different Caribbean islands. The lobby and center of the resort is called Old Port Royale. There you will find the main pool with two water slides, splash pad/water play area for littles, the main quick service restaurant, Centertown Market, pool side bar, Banana Cabana and the table service restaurant, Sebastian’s Bistro. The islands of the resort are Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica, Aruba and Martinique. Each island has a smaller pool, bus stop, laundry room, smoking section and a freestyle Coke machine for

those who have the refillable resort mugs. The Trinidad section does have the second quick service restaurant, SpyGlass Grill. It is a large

resort and very spread out but it is also a beautiful, relaxing and fun resort.

We drove in and did the online check in so we did not need to head to the lobby when we first got there as our room was ready at 12:30pm right when we arrived. I had requested the Under the Sea themed rooms as my children love The Little Mermaid. Those rooms are only in the Trinidad section which is also the farthest section from Old Port Royale. We were in building 38 but thankfully we were on the first floor which was super helpful with the double stroller. I did not make any requests for that, we just got lucky. The Trinidad section is also the section that has the couch with Murphy bed for the second queen bed which I preferred. We did not have a table with chairs however but we did have a nice coffee table that also had a storage area. Here is my video of our room so you can better see what it looked like https://youtu.be/RCuFYFHQhwA?si=OEQrzVhSNsfeXI-t.

Now, let me go over my likes and dislikes of this resort.

Likes: Beautiful and relaxing. The food options were delicious. I liked that each section had a smaller, less crowded pool that we could enjoy after a day at the parks as they were open until 11pm. The resort did not seem crowded at all. The skyliner made getting to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Riviera very easy. With bus stops at each island, that was an easy walk and we never had to wait long for a bus. The internal bus shuttle for the resort was helpful when it was either pouring out or my feet just hurt from all the walking. The room had ample storage and housekeeping always did a great job on the room. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They also were very fun as in the lobby at certain times they turn on music and dance and greet those walking in. My family and I enjoyed the main pool with the water slides and even in the middle of the day on our rest day, the pool was not too crowded or busy.

Dislikes: It is a huge resort. The walk to Old Port Royale only took ten minutes to get there but when you’ve been walking almost 20k steps in the park it can be painful. There weren’t as many life jackets at the smaller pools so I wish I had brought our own for our five year old. No mini fridge, just a beverage cooler in the rooms.

Definitely not as many dislikes as likes. I would definitely stay at this resort again, I just might pay the extra for a preferred section even though the Under the Sea themed rooms are fun and beautiful. I also definitely will strive to stay at resorts that have more than just buses for transportation as the skyliner was a dream. Overall, we loved the resort and will definitely be back.

Don’t forget that I can help your family book your next Disney vacation here or at one of the many other Disney resorts and Good Neighbor hotels.
